  18. It's been a while since new C-Kermit code has seen the light 
  19. of day in our "daily builds" area but now, against all odds,
  20. C-Kermit 9.0 is ready for testing.  Here's the web page that

  25. The biggest change is adaptation to 64-bit platforms, and to
  26. 64-bit APIs on 32-bit platforms that have them, for transferring
  27. "large file" and to be able to use big numbers in arithmetic,
  28. have larger buffers, etc.  Tons of smaller improvements, fixes,
  29. and speedups are listed in the URL.

  31. A lot of platforms that I once had access to for development and
  32. testing have vanished.  I especially miss the HP Testdrive site,
  33. which was terrific (it had every conceivable OS running on every
  34. HP hardware platform -- i386, alpha, ia64, parisc...).  When it
  35. was shut down, I lost access almost completely to VMS.  I'll do
  36. my best to carry VMS support forward, but I'll need guest access
  37. (telnet or ssh, ftp) to VMS systems of all vintages and hardware
  38. that have C compilers.
